Hot water bottles are among the most common causes of scalds at home. Follow a few rules and it won't happen.

With rubber hot water bottles

  • No boiling water, let it cool down a little first.
  • Only fill it about two-thirds full and squeeze out the air.
  • Screw the stopper on tightly and briefly check it upside down.
  • Never directly on your skin, always with a cover.
  • Don't sit or lie on it.
